Rachel Rotz was selected again for the Gary and Lorene Servos Scholarship for Groundwater from the Society for Exploration Geophysicist (SEG) to investigate the effects of precipitation dynamics on the formation and degradation of inland freshwater lenses in northern Kuwait. This makes her a double awardee having won it last year as well. In 2016, she designed and constructed a two-dimensional physical groundwater model and conducted experiments testing the response of inland lens geometry to recharge rate. Rachel will continue her studies on recharge in arid environments for her PhD, and is planning to use the second award for travel to Kuwait this summer. Congrats Rachel!
